Breathing Life Into
Web Typography
An open-source creative engine with two sides: it turns video into real-time ASCII streams, and it lets mascots walk, swim and play on your page's own text.
The Technology
Plain JavaScript on the DOM and Canvas. No framework and no runtime libraries in the browser.
Real-Time Video Engine
A server turns video into ASCII or color cells in real time and streams them to the browser: up to 30 FPS, or 60 FPS in pixel mode with the optional Rust engine.
DOM-Physics Mascots
Your text is physical terrain. Mascots walk on paragraphs, bounce off section frames, swim in ASCII water, and react to your DOM.
Zero Infrastructure
No backend at playback time and no monthly fees. Compile media into standalone .ascf files and host them on any static CDN.
Typographic Control
Raw text instead of locked video. Freely swap character sets, adjust glyph densities, and adapt to any design aesthetic.
Shader Freedom
Apply dynamic CSS filters, SVG turbulence, and custom visual effects directly to live typographic feeds.
DOM-Physics Mascots
Unlike traditional widgets that merely overlay flat images, ASCILINE mascots perceive your website's typography and DOM elements as their physical habitat. They walk on paragraphs, hit headers, swim in ASCII water matrices, and collide natively with your site in real time.
